Service - Frequently Asked Questions |
1. How does running a Mobilemaps Portal benefit me?
If you
- Run a website that has an audience with a local interest, or
- Are looking for a means to earn ongoing revenue on the Internet, or
- Want to encourage local business
Then running a Mobilemaps Portal will
- Convert traffic into revenue
- Grab your niche market for nearby advertising
- Make your day-to-day life much easier!
2. How much do I earn?
How much you earn is proportional to how much traffic you have, and the
number of advert click-throughs your traffic generates.
From each click-through you earn 85% of revenue, if the advertiser who
created the advert signed up from your service. Otherwise, if the advertiser came
from another service, you earn 65% of the revenue.
3. How do I get paid?
Each month we send out a payment to your Paypal account. The amount we pay
you should be equal to your account balance at the end of the month. Your
account balance will reduce to $0.00 again after this happens.
4. When will I get paid?
At the beginning of each calendar month.
5. How do I start the service?
You must first download the Mobilemaps software and follow the installation instructions.
Once you are satisfied that your portal is running correctly, you need to
make a small configuration-file change to start the adverts.
For specific details see the section 'Affiliates Configuration (You have a Web link to some Portal's nearby engine software, but do not run the software yourself.)' in the Portal Control Center, which is the first page you see after logging into your Portal account.
There may be an initial pause of a few minutes while your server connects
to the NearbyAds Server and gathers the latest adverts. As they download, they will become visible
on your nearby engine. You can switch your portal's adverts off instantly,
or on again, at any time in the future.
6. Do I have to install my own Mobilemaps software?
To run a full portal, yes. However, if you want a simpler service with
less maintenance, you can choose to run an Affiliate Portal that links
to another portal, and relies on the remote machine to generate
search results. You won't earn as much of the revenue, or be able to
customize the service fully, but you don't have to worry about handling the hardware, data or software.
